Help me pick something to wear.

So my husband is having this ceremony thing at work. It's not formal. Well, he said he doesn't want me wearing anything fancy. I have fancy dressy dress up dresses. But not too much in the way of just looking nice. Well, maybe I do, but maybe they don't fit me anymore. I'm not saying that they don't fit. I'm just saying, I didn't try them all on, I'm afraid they won't fit. (They most likely don't. And I can't handle that kind of news right now.)
So I tried on a few things. Dh just told me to wear pants. But I think a skirt would look better. Or dress. But I don't have any that aren't really long. Well, here is what I have come up with so far. this first outfit, I think may be a bit too casual. But still, loving the boots. ;)

OK, you like the self portrait? My maid wasn't here yet to help me out. So this is just going to have to do. It's not the best, but you get the idea.

Now, this one might work better. But I'm not sure of the shoes. Which look better??

She arrived just in time to take this pic. No head shot, I just woke up.

Or do these shoes look a little too Ally Mcbeal? If you don't know who that is, or you don't remember her, be quiet and don't make me feel old.
OK, just give me your honest opinion here. Thank you!

Personally I like #1

I agree, I like the first one best. Modern, nice, but not overly done up for a daytime event. I also agree the shoes at the bottom are a little Ally.

I like them both. First one looks more chic...second one looks more sophisticated? Matronly? Which look are you going for?

I think the denim skirt might be too casual but love the boots! how about the second outfit with that pair of shoes with the button?

# 1: Love the boots! Very modern and chic.
they said it's not formal right?, if you were #2 you may be the only one wearing a skirt.

#2: the skirt is very pretty, but personally I think the top is a little too long for that skirt. I like the shoes that you are wearing on the picture, not the Ally Mcbeal :D

I say # 1!!

DAHLING...

Absolutely #1 you hot momma you!

I would DIE for your figure, that and to be able to stand on the bed on one foot while taking a picture of my hot self to show off my fab outfit. :)

Now, where's that poll?

Definitely the first one- those boots kick ass! The jean skirt MAY be a bit on the casual side, BUT, a skirt trumps a pair of slack in my opionion. Especially when paired with a dressy top and boots.
