They can be sweet too.

The kids, they seem to have their moments lately. Alexa has taken to calling me "mom". And she's only 22 months old. It sounds insanely cute. No matter what she says, she has to follow it up with a "mom". Like for instance she will say, "I wanna wehr yuh watch mom." Or if she is hungry, she will say, "I wan sum yo-guht mom." Everything is mom. It's fabulously adorable.

And tonight, dh was going to go to the store because some mystery person drank the beer. (himself) And he wanted to get another one. The kids were fighting over who wanted to go with daddy for a walk to the store. And then daddy asks them who was going to watch mommy. Eddie quickly jumped into my lap, put both hands on my cheeks and said, "Don't worry mommy, I'll take care of you!" awwwwwww!!! Now come on! That was pretty sweet!

So, even though they do spend nearly every moment running around here like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. And despite the fact that they cause me a fair amount of stress while we are out. I'd have to say that they make me smile at the most unexpected of moments.

They are making me laugh out loud too. Alexa has figured out how to get out of her clothes. She takes them off quite a bit now. So I spend some time chasing after her to get them back on when we need to go somewhere. It's funny because Eddie being nearly 17 months older than she is, can't get his off quite as easily as she can. He gets caught up in his shirts and then needs help. Today as she was stripping down, she inspired her brother, only he got caught. Again. Alexa was a doll and gave him a hand. I love to see them work together, even if it is in taking off their clothes.

One of the sweetest things though, that I have ever witnessed between my kids was when Alexa started crying. I don't remember what it was about, maybe I told her she couldn't play with a glass jar in this store we were in, or she had been scolded by me for some reason. Anyway, she was so upset about it she needed to be consoled. She let out a pretty loud scream, followed by a good hearty cry. She called for Eddie and he instinctively went to her, opened his arms and then they both hugged. He patted her back and her hair and told her it's going to be OK. It was so melt in your mouth sweet, that it stopped 2 grown men dead in their tracks to watch. It was very heartwarming and made me feel good to see my kids trying to be there for each other.

It is in those exact moments that you think to yourself, I could so have another.

{{long pause}} I can hear my dh now...... "bite your tongue woman!"

I miss my little munchkins! Sounds like a trip to Santiago needs to be "in the works".
The old codgers might be able to make it on a 9 1/2 hour flight--
Already have the passports.

Total sweetness. In fact, I think I am just swimming in the sweetness you just let us know about...
Gosh, Isabella really needs a sibling!! I want some of that sweetness over here, too :)

I swore off more kids years ago! LOL Becuz ONE was enough (sweet little stinker that she is at 16)...TWO would have me drinking (alot) and THREE....?

Straight-jacket!

Yours are darling though, and they do make me jealous...little cute innocent kids...*sigh*

But when they hit their teenage years, you'll be happy you ONLY had two! :)

You have a similar gap between yours as I do between mine.

We're trying for a third right now because I finally feel like having the 1st two so close together is paying off. They love and entertain each other, well at least they do when they're not fighting.

Aww!! Well, it's blogs like yours, filled with sibling sweetness that makes me long for a baby brother or sister for Ethan.

Shame on you!! ;)
