Edward, Bella, and some other stuff.

OK. It's only 1 day and a number of hours before I can see Edward and Bella and all the other vamps on the big screen. Even though it's technically going to be available to be seen by me, I have to wait an additional few days. Just because on the 21st I will still "technically" be out of the country, and then I'll be flying for a good portion of the following day. And then of course from my current time zone to mountain time, I will be gaining an additional 4 hours. So I might be acting a bit off. Like, I may want to go to bed when I should be eating. I guess we'll work it out. I'm just super excited to get to go to a movie. And that movie being Twilight. So cool.

Oh and as to the status of my suitcases: not all packed. OK. Just not. Why pack, when I can blog? Can someone tell me? So while I'm blogging, I too am singing. Quietly though, because Alexa is sleeping in the next room. And if my maid slams one more cabinet door, I am going to be getting hostile up in this household. Downright hostile I tell ya. So yeah, the song:

Blackberry, Blackberry, bo-berry

banana, fana, fo- ferry

Fe-fi-mo-merry

Blackberry~
I think I have a new infatuation. And I feel Christmas is nearing... and in case any of you out there have been paying attention, you will probably remember that I do not currently have or own a cell phone. Sure I have a cell phone. But I don't think they currently work, have batteries, or make or even sell batteries for such antiquities. Seriously.

This was my last cell phone. I had to put it in my rolling back pack. I was so cool. But I couldn't zip the backpack shut. The antenna stuck out and used to poke me in the leg while I walked. It weighed 9 lbs. And I could only talk for 3 minutes and 18 seconds. It was just too heavy for longer conversations.

No seriously, I like the blackberry. It's pretty, and it can hold music too. Besides, not only is my dh not letting me take our computer home, but he stole my ipod. Oh and my friend Stephanie has one. And I'm a wimp. Peer pressure is the worst. She told me she would text me if I got one. It's free. Or something like that. Oh yeah, and Spoiled Mommy wants me to twitter. Because all the cool moms are doing it. And then Mcmommy, she went all out and posted stuff about twittering. So you can see why I might benefit from this phone. Oh, and let's be practical here. If I got stuck on the side of the road, I could call for roadside assistance. AKA my brother. Because he's good like that.

Did I mention it's hot in here? I didn't? No. I'm sure that I did. Really. I'm hot and it's affecting my blogging. I must go open the freezer. Oh, and that really wasn't my last cell phone. Honest. C'mon. You seriously didn't believe me, did you?

Man, I love Twilight.

After reading review after review from my fellow mommies, I had to dig in. I ordered all 4 books at once. When I received them, I dove right in. 1 week and 3 days later I was finished with them. All 4 of them. And I was sad. I honestly did not want it to be over. So what do you do? What did I do? I started reading them all over again. I even read Midnight Sun (the unfinished book by Stephenie Meyers) that tells Twilight (the first book) from Edward's point of view. I read that one, right along with the first one. I'd read a chapter of each one at a time. I enjoyed each, thoroughly. And I can honestly say that I haven't been this hyped about books in a really long time.

So I am now nearing the end of book 4, Breaking Dawn. Once again, I will miss it. I just don't want it to end. Apparently I am not the only one who feels this way. There are endless fan websites set up for these books, and of course, unless you have been living under a rock, then you know there is a movie coming out too.

I am desperately hoping that I can find a great deal on my plane tickets so that we can fly back to the states just in time for the release of the movie. That would be so much fun! Wish me luck! In the meantime, I have taken this quiz, to see which character I am most like. As it turns out, I am closest to an Alice Cullen. Sweet. I liked her a lot in the books.

I'm a Alice! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

Here is the trailer for the movie. (Mom, watch it. It's only 2 minutes long.)

OK, now for an update on our time situation. Today we set our clocks ahead one hour. I set this blog post to publish at midnight, but since we are losing an hour, that time does not exist. So I had to change it to 1 o'clock a.m. We were keeping time right along with eastern time zone, but now we are 1 hour ahead of eastern and 4 hours ahead of Mountain standard time (Arizona) for my family members. I'm not liking that at all. There are only a certain number of hours in the day that we can talk, especially with the difference. That kind of bites.

Unless of course, all the other time zones changed today too. But I don't know that for sure, I only know what happened here. Anyone want to clue me in if their times have changed? Thanks!

It's just me.

You'll have to excuse my bloggy absence. I've been reading, eating, playing with my kids. Yeah. That's it.

My maid has taught me how to make sopaipillas. These are a fried pastry. They can be sweet or salty. On this particular occasion, she made them salty. She hand rolled the dough and added fresh squash to the mixture. This is why they appear to be orange in color. I had to laugh as she was searching around my kitchen for just the right tools. I was lacking in the dough cutter type thingies. But she made do with a plastic cup. Let me be the first to tell you that these were excellent, fresh, soft, tasty, and I was impressed. It's not everyday that this type of thing comes out of my kitchen. That was on Friday.

Today she made Charquican. Yeah. I don't know what that is either. Until now. O.M.G. Yes, let's just say that this is more delicious than it sounds, more incredible than the picture looks, and super quick and easy to make. Here are the ingredients: ground beef, potatoes, squash, carrots, onions, oregano, and one cube of beef flavoring. yeah. O.M.G. I think I might have to go and get another bowl of this. If you are interested in the recipe, please let me know. I can work on putting it together for you. The taste is rather not what I would have thought, given the fact that I do not like onions. You can't even taste them. Delicious. You can serve this with some fresh bread and a nice salad. Apparently it's pretty popular here in Santiago. I can see why. Yum!

And now I must tell you what I've been doing with the rest of my time. After I played with my kids, and certainly after I've put them into bed, I've been doing a little reading. It's been winning the battle over my blog time. You see, there has been a lot of hype. And there has been a lot of hoopla, and some talk, and then some crazy people standing in lines at bookstores to buy these books. Well not just any books. I happened to hear the talk, and see the people in the lines, and still I didn't budge. But blog after blog that I am reading or stumble across keeps mentioning these books. Like it's some kind of drug.

I bought all 4 of them. I received them last Wednesday. I'm on book #3 right now. I haven't read a single book since before my son was born. So let's just say I haven't read since before August 2004. Long time. I. cannot. put. these. down. They are that good. And I'm in love with a new Edward. Shhhh. Don't tell my Edward. But O. M. G. I love them. They are just really enthralling. I am captivated and completely enchanted. OK, I can't blog anymore. I have to go read. It's like that. I promise I will come back though.
