Black Friday.

Last night I slept on the cell phone. Not even my cell phone, it was my dad's cell phone. I needed to be able to hear my sister calling me. We had plans to head out early with the masses of people in hopes of snagging some fabulous electronic product at deep discount. The phone rang at 3:05 a.m. or something close to that. I was out the door in under 30 minutes. Sweet.

We drove in the darkness of night to some famous Mart and easily strode through the store. They did not have locked doors, so we walked right in and positioned ourselves right next to rows of boxes which held the bright and shiny toys. We were not the only ones. Within minutes more people joined, they stood near us, parked their carts near ours as they too peered at the carefully stacked boxes.

We were elbow to elbow, cart to cart, yet we were not allowed to handle or touch the merchandise until 5 a.m. So we waited.

I drank coffee and joked with the other patrons. I posed for pictures. Don't laugh. At least I had enough sense of mind to dress myself. There were actual adults in the store who failed to shed their p.j.'s. Really, I'm not kidding.

There was a little chaos in the beginning, but no fights broke out. Nobody was trampled, or hurt, no smashed fingers and no name calling. All was a success.

Ah, the joys of Christmas shopping! Why do I do this every year?? Anyone?

I used to go for Black Friday shopping as well, but to me, it's just not worth it to have to fight the crowds.

I do love the deals though, and really missed going this year.... :(

I love Black friday shopping, too. Did you get away with some great bargains? How long did you have to stand in line to be checked out? The picture looks very chaotic!

I went out this morning for the 1st time to shop on Black Friday... I think I'll post about it. But I can now say I've crossed it off the list! Not sure if I'll ever do it again...

LOL
Wasn't that great???!!!
I'm still amazed at how they had it organized!
I'm also amazed at how people will listen and OBEY someone just because she raises her arms, claps and directs them to the registers at the OTHER end of the store! lol
That was great ~ but it got you guys moving towards me!!

Love ya

Wow, your Mart was crazier than my Mart!! You're brave, you needed my waterproof suit. You didn't get pregnant, did you???

You are my bloggy sole mate.

I wanted to go this year.

I planned to go this year like I do every year.

But at 3am when my alarm went off I was achey and feverish. And it still took me 10 minutes to decide I couldn't go.

*sigh*

There's always next year.

OMG...I love the excitement, but dread the lines. I am mostly done with my shopping for this year. Did that stop me from going? Hell no! The best part~ my 13 yr old nephew said he wanted to go with me!!! So, I set the alarm clock for 0315, woke Jake up 3 x's (he sleeps so hard), made us hot chocolate in my thermal spill proof cups, and off to Kohl's we went.

We sat in the car sipping our hot chocolate watching the millions of peeps in line outside of the store. At 0410, we walked right up to the end of the line and sauntered in...toasty warm from sitting in the car and yummy beverages.

I grabbed some awesome microfiber 60x80 throws for $7.99 each, reg $39.99! I decided I "needed" 4 of them for flopping in the living room. Also grabbed a new bath rug for mom half off.

It was crowded and some people were inconsiderate...

The best part~ teaching my nephew how to get a deal! Oh, and I love being frugal. It helps me justify the Bose home theater system I bought for my parents!!! Ah, the spirit of giving...

Oh honey! I'm soooo glad you got crowd pics! I love it!

And I'm sooo glad I'm not the only one who braved the disasters! :)

You do it every year because, secretly...it's fun! :)

For years I was out at 3 am shopping. I just can not do it any more! After eating all the food, I need my rest! Plus, I do not have the patients for the huge crowds anymore.
