Ya kidding me?

Today we received an email from the embassy. We have been informed that la oficina de registro civil is on strike. A strike. Great. OK. How does this affect us you wonder? Well, our car is sitting in the parking lot over at the embassy. And it has been doing so since about August 22. Getting government paperwork processed in a foreign country, especially this country, takes a very very long time. So let me translate this to perfectly clear english. We need diplomatic plates for our car. The civil registry office takes care of that. Now, because of their strike, we have no idea when they will come back to work to process our request for license plates. No plates=no car=more walking.

I have no idea whose baby this is, but it sums up how I feel right about now. And even though I'm kind of mad, looking at this picture makes me smile a little bit. How funny is this little baby's face?

OK, now let's look at the bright side of things. Because that will make me feel better. Still not spending money on gas. No insurance. And less miles are being put on our car. Oh yeah, and the walking, good exercise. I guess. I'm grumbling about this ya know. Trying to remain positive here.

Let me go browse some online stores, that will make me feel better for sure. Overstock.com has free shipping this weekend through Monday. Just thought I'd share that with ya. OK. That's all I've got for now.

Bad things come in 3s, right? This makes #3 for you!

1st no tickets, then the tenant in your house... now the strike. That's it, lady... no more bad news for you! I think you have had your share for quite awhile!

But think of the positives, like you said :)

How disappointing! I'm so sorry you don't get to come back for your visit. Hopefully you'll get a tenant in right away and not lose any money, and then get to pick up your trip planning right where you left off! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I'm sorry to hear about the strike, but for me, it would be a blessing to FORCE my lazy butt to WALK somewhere....*sigh*

Additionally: at $3.63 a gallon here + SUV = out of control!!!!
